This 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Overland is about as far up the option sheet as an Overland goes. Somebody ordered it with the Luxury Tech Group IV, the Advanced ProTech Group III, the Rear Seat Video Group, the McIntosh audio system and the front passenger screen, and the window sticker came to just under $93,000. Silver Zynith over Global Black Nappa leather, with kilometres higher than average for a 2023, which is the honest trade-off for that much equipment at used money. It suits somebody in Ottawa, Kanata, Stittsville or Nepean with a short daily commute and a place to plug in at night, who still wants a proper four-wheel-drive SUV for the highway and the cottage.

The 4xe pairs a 2.0L turbo four with two electric motors and an 8-speed automatic for 375 horsepower, and the window sticker rates it at about 42 km of electric range with a 3.4 hour recharge on a 240V charger. Quadra-Trac II four-wheel drive, Selec-Terrain traction management, hill descent control and Quadra-Lift air suspension, so it rides like a luxury car on the 417 and still lifts when the cottage road gets rough.

Luxury Tech Group IV brings Nappa leather with massage in both front seatbacks, 12-way power front seats with memory, four-zone automatic climate, a digital display rearview mirror, second-row window shades and a wireless charging pad. Advanced ProTech Group III adds the head-up display, night vision with pedestrian and animal detection, the surround view camera, Active Driving Assist, intersection collision assist, an integrated off-road camera and a rear camera washer. The Rear Seat Video Group puts screens in the seatbacks with Amazon Fire TV built in, the 19-speaker McIntosh system has a 950-watt amplifier, and the front passenger gets their own interactive display. On top of that come the standard Overland pieces: ventilated and heated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated wheel, the CommandView dual-pane panoramic sunroof, Uconnect 5 NAV on the 10.1-inch screen with a 10.25-inch digital cluster, SiriusXM 360L, adaptive cruise with stop and go, Active Lane Management, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection, front and rear park assist with stop, traffic sign recognition, a hands-free power liftgate and multi-colour ambient lighting.
