Used Trucks for Sale in Ottawa
Orr Motors stocks used trucks in Ottawa more deeply than most independent dealers our size. On a typical week we have around 15 to 20 pickups on the lot in Stittsville, and effectively all of them are 4×4 or four-wheel drive — from half-ton work trucks to fully loaded heavy duty diesels.
We have been doing this on Hazeldean Road since 1962, and we sell to a lot of trades, contractors, farmers and towing customers across the Ottawa Valley. That shapes what we buy.
Half-Ton, Three-Quarter-Ton or One-Ton? Start With the Job
The most expensive mistake in truck buying is buying the wrong class — either paying for capability you never use, or buying a half-ton and discovering it cannot do the job. Here is the plain version:
Half-ton (F-150, Ram 1500, Silverado 1500, Sierra 1500)
The right truck for the large majority of buyers. Comfortable enough to daily drive, capable of towing a normal boat, snowmobile trailer or small camper, and far cheaper to run than an HD. If you are not regularly towing more than about 4,000 kg, this is your class.
Mid-size (Ford Ranger, Toyota Tacoma)
Easier to park, better on fuel, and genuinely capable off-road. Worth a serious look if the bed is for weekend loads rather than daily work, or if you are navigating downtown Ottawa more than job sites.
Heavy duty (F-250/F-350, Ram 2500/3500, Sierra 2500HD)
Buy this if you are towing a large fifth-wheel, a loaded equipment trailer, or working the truck hard. Diesel HDs carry a real price premium and higher maintenance costs — worth every dollar if you need them, wasted money if you do not. We will tell you honestly which side of that line you are on.
What We Typically Have in Stock
Our truck inventory usually spans about $15,000 to $90,000. Ford is our deepest line by a wide margin, followed by Ram, then Toyota, GMC and Chevrolet.
Trucks move fast here, especially clean 4×4 half-tons under $30,000. The live inventory page is always the accurate list — and if you are looking for something specific we do not have, tell us. We buy to order more often than people expect.
Towing, Payload and Winter Capability
Every truck on our lot is four-wheel drive, which is close to non-negotiable for Ottawa winters if you are working out of the vehicle. Beyond that, a few things worth checking before you buy:
- Know your real trailer weight, loaded, not the brochure number. Tongue weight is what usually puts people over.
- Check the hitch and wiring already on the truck — a factory tow package with an integrated brake controller is worth real money.
- Cab and bed configuration matter more than trim. A crew cab with a 5.5′ box is a very different truck from a double cab with an 8′ box.
- Diesel needs use. Short winter trips are hard on emissions systems. If you are not putting on highway kilometres, gas is usually the smarter buy.
Truck Brands We Stock Most Often
Ford F-150 and Super Duty
Ford is our largest single line. We regularly have F-150s across XLT and King Ranch trims, plus Super Duty F-250 and F-350 crew cabs when we can get clean ones.
Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500
Ram is our second-deepest truck line — Tradesman, Sport, Laramie and Limited. The 1500 rides better than most competitors, which matters if the truck is also your daily driver.
Toyota Tundra and Tacoma
Bulletproof reputation and strong resale. The Tundra Hybrid in particular is a genuinely modern towing truck, and Tacomas hold value better than almost anything on the lot.
GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado
Including Sierra 2500HD heavy duty. Good value relative to the Ford and Ram equivalents.
Jeep Gladiator
The one truck that will genuinely go where a Wrangler goes. Not the highest payload, but nothing else in the class does what it does.

Free CARFAX on Every Truck — Including the Work History
Used trucks are the category where history matters most, because a truck that spent five years towing heavy is a different vehicle from one that carried groceries. We provide a free CARFAX Canada report on every truck, and we will walk through it with you rather than handing you a PDF.
Every truck is safety-inspected before delivery, and we offer extended protection plans — genuinely worth considering on a diesel HD, where a single repair can be substantial.
Truck Financing in Ottawa
We finance trucks for a lot of self-employed buyers, contractors and small businesses — situations that banks often make difficult. We work with a broad lender panel and have placed credit profiles well outside the standard box.

Common Questions About Buying a Used Truck in Ottawa
How many kilometres is too many on a used pickup?
Trucks routinely run well past 300,000 km when maintained. What matters far more is how the kilometres were earned — highway towing is easier on a drivetrain than constant short cold starts. Read the service history, not just the odometer.
Should I buy diesel or gas?
Diesel makes sense if you tow heavy regularly and put on real highway distance. If you are doing short trips around Ottawa in winter, a gas half-ton will almost always cost you less to own. We would rather sell you the cheaper truck that fits.
Do you sell to businesses and contractors?
Yes, regularly. We can work with business financing and fleet purchases — call and ask for the sales team directly.
Can I get a truck safety-certified for towing?
Every vehicle we sell is safety-inspected. If you have specific towing requirements, tell us before delivery and our service department can go through hitch, wiring and brake controller setup with you.
Do you take trades on trucks?
Yes — cars, SUVs, trucks and equipment. You do not need to buy from us to get an appraisal.
