Black Sorento LX that came to us as a local trade, which we always like because we know where it has been. The kilometres are on the higher side for a 2020 and we are not going to dress that up. It is certified and safety inspected like everything else on the lot.

It is the 2.4L four-cylinder with an automatic and all-wheel drive. Nobody is going to call it quick and we are not going to start, but the four is the easier one to live with at the pumps, and all-wheel drive is the part that matters when Hazeldean has not been plowed yet. Put a set of winters under it and it will get through an Ottawa February without any drama.

The Sorento is the sensible answer to the three-row question. It is shorter than most of the seven-seaters people cross-shop, so it still fits in a normal garage and a normal parking spot, and the third row is there for the school run or the hockey carpool without committing you to driving something the size of a bus every day. LX is the trim that skips the things that break and keeps the things you use. If you have been looking at three-row SUVs around Ottawa, Kanata, Stittsville and Nepean, this one is worth a look before you spend more.
