This Tundra is the Platinum Hybrid, CrewMax cab and four-wheel drive, in Gray over black leather. This is the generation Toyota rebuilt from the ground up, and the Platinum is where the cabin stops feeling like a truck. The kilometres are about average for a 2022. Certified and safety inspected. If you want a half-ton that tows properly and still feels like a nice car on the drive in from Kanata, Stittsville or Nepean, this is the truck for you.

The Tundra runs the i-FORCE MAX powertrain, a 3.4L twin-turbo V6 paired with an electric motor between the engine and the 10-speed automatic, for 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. Four-wheel drive, with the electric motor filling in down low so it pulls hard from a stop. It is a big truck, and the hybrid does not make it a small one, but it does make it a quick one.

The Tundra Platinum equipment list is long. A 14-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12-speaker JBL system, SiriusXM, a panoramic roof with power sunshade, leather seats that heat and ventilate in the front and the back, a heated steering wheel, 10-way power front seats with power lumbar and driver memory, a wireless charging pad, Smart Key with push-button start, and the Panoramic View Monitor 360 camera. Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard: pre-collision with pedestrian detection, full-speed dynamic radar cruise, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, automatic high beams and road sign assist.
