The 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT Premium Plus is the minivan that does the family job without any fuss, and this one came with the good package. Granite Crystal Metallic over Light Greystone and Black, leather front buckets with suede inserts, and Customer Preferred Package 29P on top of that. The window sticker came to $42,130. Kilometres are low for a 2017, and it is certified like everything else on our lot. It suits a growing family in Kanata, Stittsville or Nepean that needs seven real seats and a flat floor for the hockey bags.

The Grand Caravan runs the 3.6L Pentastar V6 with a 6-speed automatic, driving the front wheels. It is the engine Chrysler put in nearly everything for a reason: plenty of power with a van full of people and nothing exotic to worry about. Touring suspension, trailer sway control and an engine block heater for Ottawa mornings, and it will run on regular gas or E85.

Stow 'n Go is the reason people keep buying these. The second-row captain's chairs and the 60/40 third row both fold flat into the floor, so you go from seven seats to a flat cargo floor in a couple of minutes without lifting a seat out. The Premium Plus package adds tri-zone climate control with rear air and heat, the super console, second-row power windows, power vented third-row windows, a power driver's seat with power lumbar, a leather-wrapped wheel and shift knob, 17-inch aluminum wheels, fog lamps and roof rails with crossbars. The Uconnect Hands-Free Group brings Bluetooth calling and streaming, SiriusXM, a remote USB port and an auto-dimming mirror, and you also get cruise control, steering wheel audio controls, power heated mirrors and keyless entry. It is a 2017, so there is no touchscreen or Apple CarPlay, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Financing is available on this one, and we can walk you through the options when you come in.
