A number of weeks ago, at my wife's insistence, I reluctantly agreed to visit Orr motors to view their inventory. I am the type of person that reviles the insincere salesmanship that seems to typify most individuals engaged in the business of selling vehicles. I prepared myself for the worst and met my wife at Orrs. Within ten minutes of meeting Bob I was, frankly, shocked at his candour, professionalism, knowledge and courtesy. Soon after I was equally impressed with Simon and Fred. Had Orr not had the vehicle that suited our needs we would have waited until they found one that did. Lucky for us we did not have to and made our purchase. If you are looking for a used car, there is only one question that you need to answer: why would you want to buy it from anyone else when you could go to Orr Motors? My family just purchased a Honda Pilot from Orr Motors and our experience with the staff was the best I have ever had at a used car dealer. We had been looking at several used car dealers in the Ottawa area but after going to Orr Motors we decided to stop dealing with anyone else.  We were allowed to come back many times to test drive numerous vehicles without ever being made to feel that we were wasting their time. There was NO pressure whatsoever. After receiving the usual "I'm on your side", "Let me see what we can do for you" and "This the best deal that you are going to get" sales pitches from various other dealers, Orr Motors was a refreshing change. They are really interested in making sure you get the best car for you ? what a novel concept! The staff is extremely knowledgeable, personable and a pleasure to deal with. I have recommended their services to several people already. There is no question that we'll be back every time that we (or any of our friends or family!) need a used car.

You owe it to yourself to go to Orr Motors first ? you will NOT be disappointed.

 I had been looking to replace my aging 2001 Subaru. After owning three previous Subarus, I knew pretty much exactly what I wanted. After much searching, I found the car I wanted at Orr Motors. The problem was, being seven to eight hours away, it's a long way to go to kick tires. There was a lot of email exchanged , and at least a bit of hand holding by Fred to get me through the virtual purchase. Simon did a great job of a walk around inspection on my behalf by phone. The condition was described in detail, so there were no surprises when I finally picked up the car. If anything, the condition exceeded my expectations, and the detailing left the car looking brand new. I was able to purchase a vehicle without ever seeing it or driving it based on the word of the sales staff. How much more can you ask for integrity?

 Orr Motors clearly gets it, that if you ant to be in business for the long haul, you can't go for the quick buck.

 I will likely be back for my next car. 

 But hopefully not too soon!

The experience of buying my nearly new 2009 Subaru Outback at Orr Motors was a real pleasure although most of it was done virtually. I'm from Québec city and saw the car on internet; exact model I was looking for, one year old and low mileage. After requesting a road test on Sunday morning for the next Saturday, I was surprised to get an answer from Fred on Sunday evening saying that I should call on Friday to make sure the car still available for a road test since it is highly demanded. I did not want to miss this opportunity so after many e-mail and questions that were all answered promptly (thank you Fred for your patience) I decided to sign the car on Wednesday afternoon trusting Fred's words and pictures. The following Saturday I went to Ottawa to finally see the car and road test it; It was exactly as described; nearly new. Orr motors supported me for the whole car transfer process (inspection, documents...) and every issue we encountered were fixed quickly without any arguing. Never in the whole buying process I felt any pressure from Orr Motors. I would highly recommend Orr Motors to anyone, local or further away.

The sales person who assisted us and the owner provided amazing customer service going out of their way on 3 different occasions to make sure we were satisfied. They were great not only before we bought the car, but also happily assisted me with a small issue two months after the purchase. They totally went out of their way for that one even though they were under no obligation what so ever to help me out. They will definitely be the first place I'll go to when we need to replace either one of our two car. After searching around at many dealerships, I decided to give Orr Motors a shot as they has an extensive inventory of vehicles that appealed to me. I have found more success recently in dealing with the small private dealers than with the larger factory dealerships. As it was a particularly busy at Orr the day I went in,  I was seamlessly transferred between three staff members who were all consistent in their sales approach, never pushy or annoying, and all were quite knowledgeable about the vehicle I was considering. I ended up purchasing a Subaru Outback in pristine condition with a killer extended warranty. I will not hesitate to recommend Orr motors to my family and friends as it was as
pleasurable experience as I have had purchasing a car (well...as pleasurable as it can be spending tens of thousands of dollars on a depreciable asset).  Nonetheless, I'll definitely look them up when it's time to consider my next vehicle. Thanks Guys!

I have lots of experience with them, and it's all been great. Since we moved to Ottawa in 1999, I have bought five cars from them (I like to change my cars frequently). I've also sent them several friends and even had both my brother-in-law and my mother come up from Kingston to buy cars from them. I've bought mostly Nissans there, so I haven't had much trouble with the vehicles themselves, but when I have had the odd thing go wrong, they always manned up and fixed the issue (even when it was arguable whether it was really their responsibility). I'm not so fond of many other dealers in Ottawa, as I've had bad experiences with two Nissan dealers (one REALLY bad) and two Chrysler dealers in the same stretch of time, but Orr has never given me any reason to complain.

I have had the pleasure of dealing with Orr Motors twice in the past three years. The second time was at Christmas 2009 when I was in a car accident where my car was written off. Fred and his team were extremely helpful and patient, and Fred recommended a few different cars for me to try out. I did test drive quite a few as his lot has many choices to choose from. I did end up purchasing his first recommendation as it was the right choice! Fred even loaned me a car while the new one was being fixed up. Fantastic service and I would never go anywhere else.

Ten years (almost) and three cars later, I have purchased my vehicles from Orr Motors and I have never been disappointed. Trustworthy, honest, great customer service and advice all for the right price. Why go anywhere else? Fred Orr and his team are wonderful. Coming from a female-checking-cars-out-on-her-own perspective I never felt like any question was too dumb and that I was getting solid advice. If you are in the market for a used car, I strongly suggest heading over to pay Orr Motors a visit. If you do not find what you need on the lot, then ask! These guys are friendly, open and easy to talk to. Chances are, they will find what you are looking for. In any case, it is rare to find that kind of win/win situation and even harder when buying a car.

Can't say enough. very cool guys to deal with. I have recommended them several times since. ( i don 't normally do this with a used car place) Fred and Simon have been honest and straightforward. I felt that the advice was totally reasonable and sound. It took me a while to straighten out the financing and they were very good about it. I got a good deal and they made it simple and even straightened out a license (red tape) issue. I highly recommend these fellas. I was looking at other places and felt like I had to wash after dealing with them..These guys were a pleasure. Simon gave me the history on the car and I didn't even ask for it! From what I could tell, I was paying significantly less for both vehicles (originally from the US) than I would have buying the same cars from other dealers in Ottawa. Fantastic Service and Dealership I have had the good fortune to have bought two cars from Fred Orr and the team and he has been absolutely AMAZING when it comes to service and assistance.
